Care at St John’s

Care in our growth groups

At St John’s,  growth groups are the main source of care. In growth groups that you will feel known, thought of, and cared for both organically and intentionally. Within these smaller contexts we can learn from and care for one another more deeply as brothers and sisters in Christ, connect with new friends and walk through life together – through the good times and difficult ones.

Care Connect

Care Connect is our organised and often more formal care initiative that connects need with the right support. Care connect supports our growth group, and also provides for those not in a small group, and those family and friends who are known to St John’s.

The care encompasses practical needs (transport, shopping, household tasks, meal delivery); spiritual (prayer and Bible reading) and emotional support (e.g. visits).

Mental health resources in our area

The latest statistics indicate that 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health disorder in any twelve-month period and a quarter of those will have more than one condition. In addition, one third of young people will have an episode of mental ill health by the age of 25. If you haven’t personally struggled with mental ill health, it’s highly likely that someone close to you has.
