Due to the current NSW COVID-19 restrictions, EXTOL will not be held until further notice.

We will advise in due course the date we will commence in Term 3. Our youth group will be conducted in compliance with our approved COVID-19 Safety Plan.

Psalm 34:1 - " I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips."

Extol is the youth group at St. John’s that meets on Friday night from 7:30 to 9:15 for teenagers in years 7-12.  It’s an awesome place to have fun with other teenagers and to learn about who God is, what he does and what he means for our lives.  The night is full of fun games, great talks from the Bible, thought provoking discussion groups, awesome suppers and a community to have fellowship with other teenagers and the leaders. There are also outings to laser tag and split guys and girl nights. Extol attends two camps throughout the year, KYCK  which is a youth convention in Katoomba and the Extol youth weekend away “Classic”. We hope you will come join us!

If you would like to join us, please download and complete a registration form and bring it with you. Alternatively, forms are available at Extol

Below are some FAQs about Extol in regards to COVID-19

Q: How will everyone be kept COVID-19 safe?

  • We are meeting in the large hall at St John’s to satisfy the 4m² rule.
  • Spaces will be appropriately cleaned before and after Extol.
  • All youth and leaders will be required to maintain physical distancing during Extol.
  • Hand sanitiser will be readily available and required to be used upon entry.
  • A full record of attendees will be kept (as per our normal procedures) to ensure effective contact tracing in the unlikely case that transmission occurs. Youth and leaders who experience any symptoms of COVID-19 or sickness in general should not attend.
  • We will not be serving snacks as we have done in the past for the foreseeable future.
  • We ask that everyone brings their own water bottle.
  • Handling and swapping of physical objects will be avoided as much as possible.

Q: What does drop-off and pickup look like?

We ask that you aim to drop off and collect your child on time.

We also request that parents who do not need to fill out a registration form (only required in your child is new) stay in their cars during pickup/drop-off as parents who exit their cars contribute to the total participants on site. This impacts our COVID-19 safety protocols and obedience to government regulations.

Q: What if I’m a bit sick, can I still come to Extol?

If you are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19, please do not attend Extol. If you experience any symptoms in the following days or weeks, please arrange a COVID-19 test as soon as possible. If you test positive, its best to find out quickly and contact us so that any potential contacts can be notified.
